摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image receiving capacity of an ink image receiving layer to a large extent and to also eliminate the generation of contamination and positional shift by applying plasma treatment to a support provided with a surface layer so as to have a gap structure. SOLUTION: A long support 1 is continuously fed to the treatment part 2 formed between a pair of electrodes 3, 4 constituted of metal electrodes 3A, 4A and solid dielectrics 3B, 4B to be brought to an atmosphere open state. The metal electrodes 3A, 4A are generally composed of a conductive material such as silver, gold, copper, stainless steel or aluminum to be bonded to the solid dielectrics 3B, 4B. As the solid dielectrics 3B, 4B, sintered ceramics high in heat resistance may be also used. A high frequency power supply 5 is connected to one electrode 3 while the other electrode 4 is grounded by an earth 6 and an electric field is pulsated to be applied across a pair of the opposed electrodes 3, 4 to generate discharge plasma which is, in turn, used in surface treatment to develop sufficient surface treatment function even in air.
