PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having an electron atractive group, excellent preservability of an image part, especially oil resistance, and further giving heat resistance to a substrate part and is useful as a color developer of a heat-sensitive recording material. SOLUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I (X is one of a three- functional group derived from carbonyl, sulfonyl and an aliphatic hydrocarbon, a three-functional group derived from an aliphatic hydrocarbon containing more than one hetero atom, carbonyl, sulfonyl, ester bonding and an aromatic ring in a main chain or three-functional group derived from three aromatic hydrocarbons bonded with an aliphatic hydrocarbon containing more than one hetero atom, carbonyl, sulfonyl or the like), e.g. a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is obtained by subjecting a phthalic anhydride of formula III with an alcoholic compound of the formula: HO-X-OH to an esterification reaction. A heat-sensitive recording material using the compound of formula I as a color developer has an excellent oil resistance of an image and heat resistance of a substrate. |
