PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a catalyst metal and improve the durability while demonstrating the characters of the catalyst metal to the maximum. SOLUTION: The catalyst metal is carried within 30 μm from the surface of a carrier layer and distributed unevenly on the surface side, and 70% or more catalyst metal is distributed and carried unevenly on one kind of an inorganic oxide. The probability of contact of exhaust gas dispersed in a carrier layer with the catalyst metal is high because of the uneven distribution of the catalyst metal on a surface layer, and the catalyst metal can be effectively utilized, and 70% or more catalyst metal is carried on the preferable inorganic oxide to demonstrate the characters of the catalyst metal to the maximum.
