The device regulates the constant quantity of air or fluid in a container or other vessel, whereby counter pressure is not constant, the variable pressure being compensated by a regulating valve (1) within limits. With the arrangement, a filter installation can be cleaned after a fixed number of hours. As soon as the filter is blocked the counter pressure will increase and more air is allowed to enter, filling the container more quickly with air. Air can also be replaced by any kind of fluid. Air is fed by a pump connected to an inlet (2) and is checked by a cut-off ring (3) located on a regulating pin (4) held under the tension of a spring (5). If a predetermined quantity of air has to be fed, it is regulated by an adjustment bolt (7) tensioned by a spring (8). When the container inner pressure increases, a membrane (9) pushes the regulating pin further downwards; this with a force equal to the pressure difference between the diameter of the cut-off ring and the surface of the membrane.
