The invention relates to a measuring and protecting unit, applicable to measuring the electric energy consumption and protecting against electric energy theft. The measuring and protecting unit comprises a multifunctional box (A) containing various structural shapes, such as a support with orifices, provided on the margins with channels (a), wherein, by means of screws (12), it is closed with a cover (B), forming therewith a module which allows both the equipping to the desired configuration and the horizontal or vertical modular mounting of two to six such multifunctional modules, the first of which is compulsorily an apparatus module (C), followed by one or more measuring modules (D) which are mounted by means of packing glands (9).
