The invention relates to a damper which may be used as spacer for average and high voltage overhead lines, for damping the cable vibration and for attaching the cables to the insulators. The damper comprises resilient discs (1, 2, 3 and 4) coated with a teflon layer, mounted so that radial clearances ( a and b) and a central orifice (c) are formed therebetween.The resilient discs ( 1, 2, 3 and 4) are attached by means of the central rings (5) and peripheral rings (6) fastened by screws ( 7 and 8). A massive body (9) is fastened by the peripheral screws (8) and a rod (10) is secured with the nuts (11) in the central orifice (c). The opposite side of the rod (10) is provided with a clamp (12) for fastening on a cable (13) of the overhead lines by means of the screws (14).
