<p>The geophone comprises a couple of transducers (20,21), each of which detects horizontally polarized shear waves and compression waves. One of the transducers detects the sum of the shear and compression waves and the other the difference between them. Compensation is provided based on the sum or the difference between the two outputs to represent the horizontally polarized shear waves.</p> |
