PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photo-decompose efficiently a very small amount of hazardous substance by providing a heating means for generating atmospheric mist moisture through which a treatment objective gas containing a hazardous substance passes, a photocatalytic body which decomposes the hazardous substance sticking to the mist-like moisture by a photocatalytic function, and a means for heating the photocatalytic body. SOLUTION: The photocatalytic device 1 introduces an object to be treated in a vapor phase state (an exhaust gas) into a treating unit 2 wherein a mist generation means 4 and a low voltage ultraviolet lamp 5 are provided. Thereafter, a humidified exhaust gas is introduced into a photocatalytic unit 7 wherein a high voltage ultraviolet lamp 9 and a photocatalytic body 10 are provided. After decomposing and removing the hazardous substance contained in the exhaust gas, the purified gas is discharged. When the exhaust gas passes through an atmosphere in which a mist moisture floats, the hazardous substance sticks to the moisture. Further, when an electromagnetic wave is emitted from the low voltage ultraviolet lamp 5, intermolecular coupling force of a compound and electrostatic coupling force are weakened. Further, when a voltage is impressed to the photocatalytic body 10 from a voltage source 11, the moisture is dried up. |
