PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material to be used in the high strength bolt friction gripping method, which neither requires surface preparation of a high degree nor forms porous coated films and imparts a high coefficient of friction. SOLUTION: The coating material containing, as the film-forming components, (A) 5-20 wt.% binder composed of (i) at least one synthetic resin selected from a polyurethane resin, a polyester resin, a fluororesin and an acrylic resin (excluding methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and cobalt octanoate when a curing agent is used) and (ii) an inorganic binder at a weight mixing ratio of binder (i) to inorganic binder (ii) of 25:75 to 100:0, (B) 50-90 wt.% zinc powder or zinc alloy powder which has an average particle diameter of 1-30μm and, at the same time, not less than 50% of which has a particle diameter of not smaller than 2μm, and (C) 1-40 wt.% pigment, is coated to form a coated film having a dry film thickness of 5-30μm before joining. |
