PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a foundation cloth for metal plating capable of obtaining a metal plated woven fabric excellent in feeling and the metal plated woven fabric using the foundation cloth. SOLUTION: (1) This foundation cloth for metal plating is a woven fabric which comprises warp yarns being a multifilament yarn having 11-50 dtex total denier and a weft being a multifilament yarn having 11-67 dtex of total denier and has 1265-3584 cover factor. (2) In this metal plated woven fabric having a metal plating on the surface, the woven fabric is composed of the warp yarns comprising the multifilament yarn having 11-50 dtex total denier and the weft comprising the multifilament yarn having 11-67 dtex 1265-3584 total denier and has 1265-3584 cover factor.
