<p>The present invention relates to polyolefin fibres which incorporates one or more cytotoxic additives in the body of the fibre. The fibres are able to prevent or reduce the growth of bacteria or other cellular micro organisms on or close to the surface of the fibre. The fibres find use in domestic applications for floor, bedding and wall coverings. The fibres of the present invention may be mixed in a woven or non-woven matrix with other untreated fibres to extend the cytotoxic properties to the material as a whole.</p> |
