<p>The present invention relates to a titanium-based alloy that comprises the following elements: from 2.2 to 3.8 wt % of aluminium; from 4.5 to 5.9 wt % of vanadium; from 4.5 to 5.9 wt % of molybdenum; from 2.0 to 3.6 wt % of chromium; from 0.2 to 0.8 wt % of iron; from 0.01 to 0.08 wt % of zirconium; from 0.01 to 0.25 wt % of carbon; from 0.03 to 0.25 wt % of oxygen; the balance consisting of titanium. This alloy has a high three-dimensional deformation capability (can easily be rolled into bars), does not create any problems as for the formation of refractory inclusions and can efficiently be reinforced by thermal treatment in order to obtain high-level toughness and plastic characteristics.</p> |
