The cable seal consists of a disc shape that is cut into a spiral (2) by a press and a circular hole (3) is punched out in the center of the disc. Between the two ends (8,9) the inner spiral has an unchanged thickness. The seal can be wrapped around one or two cables and then compressed in the cable inlet of a joint box or similar termination. An independent claim is included for a method of sealing a cable inlet
