The method is for the grid forming of a graphic basic element in a graphic system beginning with graphic basic element instruction data to produce pixel data for the graphic basic element where that graphic system has a memory which is subdivided into blocks which are in each case assigned to predetermined regions on an image screen (114). The method comprises sampling the graphic basic element assigned pixel in one of the of blocks in which the graphic basic element is extended, and repeating this preceding step until pixel assigned to the graphic basic element all in each of the blocks in which the graphic basic element is extended is scanned, and then outputting the pixel data.
