<p>A data transmitting method preferably applied to transmission of video and audio data. A transmission packet of serial digital transfer interface is transmitted in which every line of a video frame comprises an end synchronizing code region where an end synchronizing code is inserted, an auxiliary data region where auxiliary data is inserted, a start synchronizing code region where a start synchronizing code is inserted, and a payload region. In the payload region, first data including attached data which includes stream information in units of a picture of video data and second data including main data which includes video data and/or audio data is inserted. The stream information indicates whether the unit of a picture belongs to a preroll section before an edit section, the edit section, or a postroll section after the edit section. On the reception side, use of the stream information enables adequate edit with, for example, a VTR.</p> |
