The invention relates to a method for machining workpieces. According to said method, workpieces are machined in a machining area by means of a travelling spindle and a receiving device. The invention also relates to a device for machining workpieces, comprising a receiving device (11), which is located inside a machining area of the device, and a spindle (2), which is three-dimensionally adjustable inside the machining area and which can travel to the receiving device (11) in order to machine the workpieces. According to the invention, the spindle (2) is guided to a receiving area (10, 13) outside of the machining area, optionally, workpieces (8, 18) and/or tools (9) are received by the spindle in the receiving area, and said workpieces and/or tools are moved into the machining area and used for machining workpieces with the spindle (2) and the receiving device (11). This provides an inexpensive, versatile means of machining workpieces which is also relatively insusceptible to interference. |
