<p>A rodent cage (1) consists of a cage bottom (3), a bonnet (11) and a feeding assembly (23). The cage bottom has a number of integral sides (12) a floor (13) and an open top end (16), with a continuous peripheral lip (8). The bonnet includes a top (9), which has a perforated surface to allow air to pass into the cage through filters (7). A skirt extends around the rim of the cage bottoms lip to create a seal. The assembly consists a frame (69) with at least one support (52) descending from the frame, and a pair of flanges (39, 39') which are received by recesses (35, 35') in the peripheral lip. The supports are polygons with snap on bottoms, selectively connected to the lower ends, which may consist of a food container (37) or a water bottle support (31). A lock for locking the top and bottom sections of the cage, consists of a lock bar, which goes from an unlocked to locked position, also acts as a visual alert.
