The kit to be assembled into a picture holder (1) has a flat sheet (2) with an open section (4) to display the picture. A second and flexible sheet is bonded to the first sheet (2) to form a base body. The two spaced bonding points at the first sheet are at a gap from each other which is smaller than the length of the second flexible sheet so that, when the second sheet is attached to the first, it is bent to form a D-shaped structure in cross section. The two sheets together are in a one-piece structure, with a folding line between them. The two sheets are of the same plastics material, and the first flat sheet is transparent. A lamp can give back lighting to the picture.
