In the vehicle heating or air conditioning system, the lower wall of the cold air bypass (25), facing the upper wall (111) of the housing box, is formed by a shaped body (26). It is over the heat exchanger (16), between the longitudinal wall of the hosing box (11) in the air flow direction and the cold air bypass (25), to give a stepped run. The shaped body (26) is trapezoid and hollow, and its interior is used for fitting protected components such as the operating units (27) for the air control (22), with electrical supply lines.
