The rescue equipment consists of an inflatable tube (3) the inner cross-section of which acts as a chute and is at least the width of a person's shoulders. The tube is widened by at least one air-filled element (4,6) and can be folded along its length. The tube is double-walled with an annular space (7) filled and emptied by a medium such as air, liquid, granular or flaky material or foam or a combination of these, via valves (32).
