The invention relates to a method and apparatus for peak laod distribution. A peak load distributor (10) reduces the demand on power distribution system by controlling the power available to loads. The apparatus takes an AC current input and a micro-controller executes control algorithms to open and close power outputs to deferrable loads. The outputs are generally put in series with the power applied to a load to disable the load or to lower peak demand.
