The front base plate securing the connector piece (2) to the front binding (4) is provided with a cross-direction rotary journal in its lower region for securing the plate to the ski. The base plate is freely rotatable about the journal relative to the ski when it is fitted to the ski. The rear base plate for securing the connector piece to the rear binding (3) is provided with fittings designed to fix it to the ski. The front and rear base plates are joined together by an expandable connecting section that prevents the two base plates moving apart, but which does not prevent or encourage the two base plates moving towards each other. Independent claims are also included for (a) a ski binding including the connector piece, and (b) a ski fitted with the connector piece. |
