The present invention relates to a method, computer program products, and a computer readable medium for communication via a first network between a first computer unit that includes a first WAP stack and a second computer unit through the medium of the WAP protocols. communication to and from the secon dcomputer unit takes place via a second WAP stack that includes at least a WDP part and a WSP part. The WSP part is placed in the second computer unit and the WDP part is placed in a third computer unit operating in the first network. All communication between the WDP part and the WSP part takes place in the form of messages that are forwarded or passed on in accordance with a specific communications protocol. When the first computer unit requests information that is not available to the second computer unit, the request is forwarded to a further computer unit which passes the request on to a further network which is available to this further computer nit and in which the requested information is assumed to be available. |
