The method involves applying two foils strips (2,4) drawn from two rollers (8,9) to the upper and lower surfaces of a carrier plate (3) to form a packet (1) of layers, cutting off with a laser beam, feeding the packet into a short duration press and pressing it into a decorative plate by applying pressure and heat. The applied foil strips are simultaneously cut along the dividing line between two butted carrier plates by laser beams from above and below using traversing laser cutters (13,14) and the released packets are fed into the opened press for the pressing process. An Independent claim is also included for a system for implementing the method.
