The method is for one booking a mobile station (MS) of a mobile radio subscriber in a cell (C) of a cellular network consisting of several cells, in which case a base station (BTS) is assigned to each of the cells. In the method the position of the mobile station (MS) on the basis of a satellite supported radio orientation is determined and its position registered to the mobile station in one of the cells (C). Independent claims are included for a mobile station, the station including a unit for determining the position of the mobile station on the basis of a satellite supported radio orientation and a monitoring unit.
