Junction between a high temperature superconductor (HTS) to a normal conductor (ME) comprises a high temperature superconducting body (HTSII) having metal layers (MEII) connected to the end of a superconducting component with a high temperature superconducting intermediate layer (HTSI) and an electrically conducting solder (MEI). Preferred Features: The high temperature superconductor is in the from of X1Ba2Cu3Ox (where, x = rare earth or Y). The metal layers are made of Ag or Au. The solder is an alloy with MEII components.
