PURPOSE: A key inputting apparatus of TV and controlling method thereof are provided to reduce the number of keys provided in a body, thereby reducing inconvenience of a user and the manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: The key inputting apparatus of TV comprises a mode selecting key(11) mounted on a body(10) to select a controlling mode, and an increasing and reducing key(12,13) for inputting a detailed controlling order of a mode selected by the mode selecting key. The method for controlling the apparatus comprises steps of selecting a control mode according to a predetermined order when the mode selecting key is inputted, displaying the selected control mode on a screen, performing a detailed controlling operation of the control mode responding to an input signal of the increasing and reducing key, and displaying a controlled state on the screen. In the method, if the increasing or reducing key is inputted in a state that the control mode is not selected, a channel changing operation is performed. |
