PURPOSE: Provided is a simple and effective process for producing a fluorescent layer for a cathode-ray tube that provides excellent layer properties. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises the steps of: spreading a composition containing a linking resin, a phosphor, a dispersing agent, a flux onto the cathode-ray tube panel; drying the panel to form the fluorescent layer; partially spraying a photosensitive agent onto the fluorescent layer using a nozzle in accordance with the desired layer pattern; exposing the resultant panel to light without using a photo mask, wherein the light is irradiated in all directions; developing the resultant panel to form the fluorescent layer pattern.
