PURPOSE: A method for playing games using short message services(SMSs) on cellular phones is provided, so that many cellular phone users can play games as transceiving inputted contents by using the SMSs, by equipping dial buttons and liquid crystal display(LCD) on the cellular phones. CONSTITUTION: Both cellular phone users play games by using buttons in a match game mode. If a user presses a button(210,310), a controller detects the input of the button through an input unit, and controls the whole processing according to the inputted button. A processed result is transmitted to the other user through a short message service(SMS). The controller stands by an answer from the other user. If the answer is received through an SMS(250,350), the controller displays the answer on a liquid crystal display(LCD)(260,360). A match result is analyzed to decide whether a game is completed according to a game rule. If so, the game is completed(270,370).
