PURPOSE: A device for reducing the car oscillation of an elevator is provided to reduce the car oscillation by the shake of a main rope efficiently and to entrain the passengers comfortably by improving the entraining feeling. CONSTITUTION: A device for reducing the car oscillation of an elevator includes a car, a thimble rod, a spring plate, a thimble rod spring(5), a main rope and a buffer member(7). The thimble rod spring(5) is inserted in the spring plate, which passes through the top of the car, and fixed by the bolt in the compressed state. The buffer member(7) is inserted in the thin line of the spring to attenuate the outside excitation, which is delivered to the car through the main rope. The material quality of the buffer member(7) is the rubber and the pitch of the buffer member(7) is the same as that of the thimble rode spring.
