PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for displaying a level controlling operation of an image displaying device are provided to display an arranging direction of level controlling button, a patterning direction of level controlling indication, and a size and a position of a screen to be substantially controlled so as to be identical to each other. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for displaying a level controlling operation of an image displaying device using an on-screen display(OSD) menu comprises a key inputting portion(11) selecting an object to be controlled and having a horizontal and vertical controlling button for controlling a level of the object, an OSD menu generating portion(13) displaying the OSD menu and displaying a control indicating direction of the level of the object, and a controlling portion(12) for controlling the OSD menu generating portion. A method for displaying the level controlling operation of the image displaying device comprises steps of determining whether an OSD menu displaying mode is selected, generating a displaying pattern of the level to be controlled, determining whether the horizontal and vertical controlling button is operated, and coinciding an operating direction of the button with a patterning direction of the level controlling indication. |
