PURPOSE: A variable capacity swash plate type compressor piston is provided to allow an assembly work for a body and an end cap to be performed with ease, and the end cap to be uniformly fitted into an aperture of the body. CONSTITUTION: In a swash plate type compressor(1) having a cylinder block(4) supporting a driving shaft(2) to be rotatable, the cylinder block having a bore for accommodating a piston(25) to reciprocate, and a swash plate(4) rotating in accordance with the rotation of the driving shaft, the compressor supporting an outer periphery of the swash plate through a shoe(60 disposed in a portion opposed to both inner surfaces of a recess portion of the piston, a compressor piston comprises a cylindrical body(26) having an end opened and a groove at an outer periphery thereof, the cylindrical body having an extension portion(27) extended from the opened end of the cylindrical body, the cylindrical body being formed by bending the extended portion and sealing the opened end, and a recess portion(30) connected to the body through a bridge(29), the recess portion having a section of U-shape and a pair of shoe pockets(31) for accommodating the shoe for supporting an outer surface of the swash plate.
