The non-signal area remaining on the disk is processed in a selected information recording area. The selected information recording area is registered as a dummy recording area which is not used. The non-signal area includes a non-signal plane along an information recording track over at least a length long enough to makes it impossible for an optical pickup to trace the information recording track.
