PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling a power of a mobile station in a multi-carrier CDMA mobile telecommunication system is provided to efficiently use the power of a mobile station by extracting bits corresponding to power control bits among a multi-carrier signal received as a broad band and combining extracted bits to output the combined bits to a power adjuster of a mobile station transmitting device. CONSTITUTION: A digital mixer(410) classifies signals received as a broad band according to a carrier. A searcher(415) divides signals classified in the digital mixer(410) by a transmission path. A finger part(420) demodulates carriers outputted from the searcher(415). A parallel to serial converter(430) converts carrier signals outputted from the finger part(420) into serial signals. A de-randomization part(440) has a long code generator and demodulates signals encoded by a long code when transmitting signals. A cell and power control bits combiner(450) divides search signals of each finger part(420) outputted from the de-randomization part(440) according to cells, extracts power control bits among divided signals, and generates a transmitting gain control signal for controlling a transmission power. |
