METHOD FOR PROCESSING OVERLAPPED MESSAGES OF TERMINAL IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PURPOSE: A method for processing overlapped messages of a terminal is provided to process the overlapped messages generated when short message services(SMSs) or broadcasting information services are retransmitted, by using a service category number(SCN) and a message identification(MID) to store history of previously-received messages. CONSTITUTION: If a message is received in a terminal, the terminal analyzes a field of the message. The terminal retrieves a history buffer storing history of the message. A service category and an identification of the message are compared on the basis of the history of the message. If the service category and the identification are equal to a prestored service category and a prestored identification, the message is considered as an overlapped message. The overlapped message is ignored.
