PURPOSE: An imaging device with a learning function and controlling method thereof is provided to display vocabulary and simultaneously output a pronunciation corresponding to the word, thereby increasing learning efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The imaging device with a learning function comprises a learning data base in which a learning data including a phonetic symbol is stored, a subtitling portion(110) for subtitling subtitle data included in a broadcasting signal and the learning data stored in the learning data base, a sound generating portion for synchronizing a sound corresponding the learning data using a digital sound data according to the phonetic symbol, a controlling portion for reading a correspondent learning data from the learning data base and outputting a correspondent learning data and the correspondent sound, a video switch(50) for inputting a subtitle signal or the learning data and an OSD(on-screen display) signal and selectively outputting the signal or data according to a switching signal from the controlling portion, an image processing portion(30) for processing an output from the sound generating portion and the sound signal, an audio switch(100) for selectively outputting an output from the video switch and an image signal, and a sound processing portion(80). |
