PURPOSE: A plasma display device is provided to design a device easily, and to reduce an optical interrupting loss by a large margin. CONSTITUTION: In a plasma display device, a scanning electrode(32) and a common electrode(33) is formed on a lower plate(31). The scanning electrode(32) and the common electrode(33) are buried in a primary dielectric layer(34) on the lower plate(31). the electrodes(32, 33) is made of a metal like a silver, a sliver alloy, a copper, and a copper alloy. On the primary dielectric layer(34), partitions(35) are formed to divide a discharge space, parallelled with the electrodes(32, 33). The primary dielectric layer(34) may have a protecting layer on an upper side. A fluorescent layer(37) is formed in the discharge space divided by the partitions(35). A front plate(41) has a transparent address electrode(42) in a crossing direction with the scanning electrode(32) and the common electrode(33) below the plate(41) itself. A secondary dielectric layer(43) under the front plate(41) buries the address electrode(42). In one discharge space, a pair of the scanning electrode(32), the common electrode(33) and the address electrode(42) is located. |
