PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device having superior display quality, in which a reflector having a repeated pattern is used while oblique moire fringe patterns are made difficult to recognize visually. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal layer is interposed between a pair of substrates, and a plurality of stripe transparent electrodes 20, 21 are formed parallel to one another at a specified interval on the respective faces of the substrate pair facing each other, while the stripe electrodes 20, 21 facing each other are set orthogonal to each other. A reflector is disposed on one of the inner faces or on the outside of the substrates. This reflector has a large number of recesses 4 continuously formed along two directions perpendicular to each other, and these two directions of the recesses 4 are controlled to make 2.5 deg. to 40 deg. angle from the two extending directions of the stripe electrodes 20, 21 perpendicular to each other. |
