PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the luminance, contrast, and responsiveness of a screen in a planar display device, and to realize a large-sized display high in the luminance, contrast and responsiveness of the screen and free of discontinuity of joints by arranging plural planar display devices in tile state. SOLUTION: This planar display device 1 having a display panel 5 structured by arranging two kinds of electrodes, i.e., signal electrodes Y, and scanning electrodes X so that they cross each other nearly in a lattice shape has the signal electrodes arranged divisionally in three or more areas A, B, C, and D and different display signals are supplied to the signal electrodes in the three or more areas. Further, plane display devices which are arranged in tiles so as to constitute one screen have the signal electrodes arranged divisionally in two or more areas and feed points for the signal electrodes in the two or more areas are provided on the reverse surfaces of the display panels. |
