<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering dimethyl terephthalate and an alkylene glycol from a mixture of a chlorine-containing resin with a polyalkylene terephthalate. SOLUTION: A mixture of a chlorine-containing resin with a polyalkylene terephthalate is melted in the presence of dimethyl terephthalate and a zinc composition at a temperature of 275-400 deg.C, and the formed methyl chloride is removed and then, methanol depolymerization is conducted to recover dimethyl terephthalate and an alkylene glycol. Preferably, the polyalkylene terephthalate is a polyethylene terephthalate, and the chlorine-containing resin is preferably a poly(vinyl chloride).</p> |
