<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric charge regulator containing no harmful heavy metal, less liable to cause coloration, applicable to any of black and color toners and excellent in electrostatic charge characteristics by using a polymer of a polymerizable composition containing a radical polymerizable monomer having a diphenyl group which may be substituted by a carboxyl group. SOLUTION: The electric charge regulator is a negative charge type electric charge regulator comprising a polymer of a polymerizable composition containing a radical polymerizable monomer having a diphenyl group which may be substituted by a carboxyl group. The monomer is easily synthesized, e.g. by allowing diphenylic acid anhydride, 2-phenylbenzoyl chloride or 4- phenylbenzoyl chloride to react with a monomer having active hydrogen such as a (meth)acrylate having a hydroxyl group, a phenolic hydroxyl group or a mercapto group in a side chain.</p> |
