PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily carry out installation and removal of a spool from a reel body in a double bearing reel. SOLUTION: This double bearing reel is obtained by freely detachably installing a first annular member 10 having a first opening 10a and a second annular member 11 having a second opening 11a in a first side plate 8 and a second side plate 9 of a reel body and providing the first side plate 8 and the second side plate with a first external thread part 8a screwed into a first internal thread part 10b formed in the first opening 10a and a second external thread part 9a screwed into a second internal thread part 11b formed in the second opening 11a. The first opening 10a and the second opening 11a are capable of housing an end of a flange part 12a. When a spool 12 is removed, a pinion gear 32 is removed from the spool 12, and the first annular member 10 and the second annular member 11 are removed to pull out a spool shaft 16 integral with a first side cover 6. Thereby, the spool 12 together with the first annular member 10 and the second annular member 11 can be removed from the upper side.
