PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical connector plug which enables a general user to complete connecting operation easily, in a short time, and to actualize a method for connecting an optical cable easily in a short time by using a conventionally designed receptacle as it is. SOLUTION: This optical connector plug 15 adopts a constitution, wherein a ferrule 17 has a guide hole 18 into which an optical cable 16 covered with a jacket 16a up to the tip can be inserted up to the ferrule tip surface 17a. The connecting method for the optical cable 16 adopts a method for inserting the optical cable 16 covered with the jacket 16a up to the tip into the guide hole 18 of the optical connector plug, after the optical connector plug 15 is engaged with a receptacle 11 and then fixing the optical cable 16 to the ferrule 17.
