PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such troubles that a detergent is dissolved incompletely by being caught in clothes or stuck strongly on them, so that not only washing functions cannot be performed but also it is necessary to conduct washing once more because the detergent remains after washing, and to improve the usability of a washing machine by enabling a powder detergent to be put into the space between the washing and dewatering tank and the water-receiver tank. SOLUTION: In this washing machine, an agitation impeller 2 is installed in a manner of being rotatable freely on the bottom of a washing and dewatering tank 1 arranged in a water-receiver tank 3 in a manner of being rotatable freely, the water-receiver tank 3 is supported vibration-proofly by an outer container 6 and an outer-container cover 13 is arranged on the upside of the outer container 6 so as to cover the water-receiver tank. A water-receiver tank cover 15 covers the upside of the water-receiver tank 3, and a powder- detergent inlet 16 to put into a powder detergent is provided on the water- receiver tank cover 15.
