<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a signal processing speed without increasing a relative speed between a rotary cylinder and a magnetic tape, nor increasing the number of magnetic heads. SOLUTION: In order to increase a signal processing speed, a relative speed between a magnetic head and a magnetic tape is required to increase. In this case, a contacting surface between the magnetic head 12 and the magnetic tape 13 is placed in an unstable condition. In order to avoid such a situation, a diameter of a rotary cylinder 11 is decreased, and a winding angle of the magnetic tape 13 against the rotary cylinder 11 is increased. This results in an increased signal processing speed without changing the relative speed between the magnetic head and the magnetic tape.</p> |
