PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate such a phenomenon as a protective cover for a communication line is blown hard by strong wind and turns upside down and a communciation line is exposed from the opened split. SOLUTION: A fitting tube part 2 is provided at one longitudinal end of a laterally elongated body tube 1 having the other end with a joint tube part 3 being fitted with the fitting tube part 2 and the lower ends thereof are split 4 to be enlarged freely in the longitudinal direction thus containing and protecting a suspension wire T and a communication wire A supported by means of a large number of cable hangers K being hooked to the suspension wire T through the split 4 edges. In such a protective cover C for communication line, inner circumferential surface of the body tube 1 has elliptical cross-section of such a size as the body tube does not turn uselessly in a plane orthogonal to the axial direction of the communication wire A.
