<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an interface between a printer driver and a printer regardless of an operating system by preparing a printer driver module peculiar to the printer on the basis of printer structure information specified according to a mark-up expandable language. SOLUTION: A format of equipment capability data element 151 is provided in order to discriminate a structural element of data element and is demanded according to a syntax of an expandable mark-up language to be used to define a general purpose printer data structure definition file. A start tag 400 of the equipment capability data element 151 is used for recognizing start of the data element, data related to the equipment capability data element 151 are described after the start tag 400, which is continued up to an equipment capability end tag 401. Data related to the equipment ability data element 151 are composed of partial elements including an equipment capability header data element 154, a UPDF version data element 152 and a feature data element 155.</p> |
