PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a light flux rising characteristic, to maintain the superior light flux rising characteristic even if blinking is repeated, and to prevent variations of the light flux rising characteristic in each product. SOLUTION: This lamp has an arc tube 1 and a lighting circuit 2 for lighting the arc tube 1 which are housed in an envelope 5 having a globe part 3 and a case part 4; electrodes 8 provided in both end parts of the arc tube 1; a main amalgam 14 inside the arc tube 1, for controlling a mercury vapor pressure in the arc tube 1 in the steady lighting; and auxiliary amalgam 12 near the electrodes 8, made of lead.
