PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a disk device which suppresses a maximum value of the input current of the entire disk device while securing a display function with a display means, in consideration of the fact that it is conventionally difficult that a maximum current of an FDD connected to a computer through a USB interface is made equal to or lower than 500 mA. SOLUTION: An LED 12 to indicate the operation state of the FDD is not continuously lit for seek but is lit in a section including no peaks of the current of a stepping motor 16 for transportation of heads 4 and 5. Thus, a sum Im+Id of a current Im of the stepping motor 16 and a current Id of the LED 12 is suppressed to a low value.
