PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the still picture display device which makes it possible to select multiple display methods without increasing the circuit scale. SOLUTION: The display device is provided with an instantaneous switching mode wherein data of an original image and processed image data are stored in a main memory 1, and after the two images which are the original image and processed image are downloaded from the main memory 1 to different frame memories, the original image data and processed image data in the still picture memory 5 are instantaneously switched in the still picture memory 5 and outputted to a DA converter 6, and a low-speed rewriting mode wherein the processed image data are written at a slow speed to the frame memory of the still picture memory 5 where the original image data are written during the operation for output from the still picture memory 5 to the DA converter 5.
